    • A liner is inserted into the well of a silkscreen printing frame, enabling the printing process to be carried out considerably faster and more efficiently. The liner bridges the interface between the interior periphery of the frame and a screen stencil stretched across the bottom of the frame. The liner includes generally vertical sidewalls disposed adjacent the inner periphery of the frame and an integral inwardly depending base that overlaps the margins of the screen stencil. An adhesive coating on the bottom surface of the liner base securely adheres the liner base to an emulsion layer covering the margins of the screen stencil. The base of the liner is otherwise open so that ink deposited in the well contacts the non-marginal region of the screen stencil, while the liner isolates the ink from the interface between the screen stencil and the inner periphery of the frame.

    • A light guide (1) comprises a housing (3) defining a light-guiding optical cavity having first and second opposed major faces (5, 6), and a light source (11) arranged to direct light into the cavity from one end, to be guided between the major faces. The first major face (5) comprises a window through which light can be emitted from the optical cavity to be used, for example, for illuminating a graphic display. To improve the light distribution across that first major face (5), the second major face (6) comprises a sheet material (23) having a specularly-reflecting surface (24) that faces into the optical cavity and has diffusely-reflecting light-extraction elements (27) applied thereto in a predetermined configuration for causing light to be emitted from the optical cavity through the said window.

    • In one embodiment the present invention comprises an ultrasonic polyp snare adapted to grasp, cut and coagulate polyps and other tissue masses in internal body lumens, specifically in the colon. An ultrasonic polyp snare according to the present invention includes an ultrasonic signal generator attached to the proximal end of a flexible ultrasonic waveguide. An ultrasonic vibration amplifier is coupled to the distal end of the flexible ultrasonic waveguide. An ultrasonic blade is coupled to the ultrasonic amplifier. An ultrasonic attenuator is coupled to the distal end of the ultrasonic blade. And, a snare wire is positioned adjacent at least a portion of the ultrasonic blade.

    • The present invention provides a power frequency, i.e., time-varying, magnetic field (PF-NF) detector system for characterizing the operational condition of a remote facility responsive to time-varying magnetic fields generated by electrical transmission lines associated with the remote facility. The PF-MF detector system advantageously includes a PF-MF sensor which generates N time-varying magnetic field data sets, and a PF-MF analyzer which generates an operational condition assessment responsive to the N time-varying magnetic field data sets, wherein N is an integer greater than or equal to 1. Additionally, the PF-MF detector system includes an accumulator which stores and forwards the N time-varying magnetic field data sets to the PF-MF analyzer via a communications channel. A method for characterizing the operational condition of inaccessible electrical equipment responsive to the time-varying magnetic field generated by a transmission line are also described.
