    • An apparatus for providing a guide and positioning mechanism for dictating retraction motion of a retractable member such as a retractable media jack. The apparatus is comprised of a “J-shaped” cam follower having a short end press-fit into a cam pushing with the longer end of the cam follower tracing out the path boundaries as dictated by a groove within a cam track. The cam bushing is comprised of a generally cylindrical cam axle through with the short end of the cam follower passes and an extended wedge-shaped extension for providing support to the extended longer portion of the cam follower. The longer portion of the cam follower is rotationally bounded by stops on each end of the wedge-shaped extension on the cam axle which keeps the long end of the cam follower radially bounded as the cam follower traces a catch and release path of the cam track during extension and retraction of the retractable member.

    • An integrated adjustable data entry keyboard. A divided keyboard arrangement comprises first key field and second key fields pivotably mounted upon a stationary base. The first and second key fields substantially comprise a keyboard arrangement. A space bar is separately attached to the base and occupies a lower keyboard region centrally disposed between the first and second key fields. The space bar is enlarged so as to remain within the radius of a user's thumb's "strike zone" when a user adjusts the first and second key fields. A synchronizing coupling means may be employed to ensure complimentary movement of the first key field relative to the second key field and thereby relative to the user's hands and wrists, even if only one of the individual key fields is pivoted. Compliantly mounted detachable palm rests may be attached to each of the first and second key fields to provide substantially integrated palm and hand support for the user throughout the range of motion of the key fields, thereby increasing the user's comfort.

    • A PC card includes a circuit board having an electrical component mounted on the face thereof and an I/O connector coupled to an end thereof. The circuit board is enclosed by a metal casing. The casing includes a top cover having a pair of sidewalls projecting from the sides thereof. Each top sidewall has an outside face with an engagement shelf projecting therefrom. The base cover includes a pair of bottom sidewall projecting at opposing sides thereof. Each of the bottom sidewalls has an inside face with an engagement ridge projecting therefrom. The bottom sidewalls are configured such that the locking ridges engage the shelf when the top cover and base cover are pressed together with the circuit board positioned therebetween. Projecting from the inside face of the top cover is a shield wall encircling a heat sink. The shield wall encircles the component on the circuit board when the top and base cover are attached together.
