    • A low cost universal network interface device capable of accommodating various terminating devices. The network interface device generally including a base defining an interior cavity, and being further defined by a provider portion and a subscriber portion. The network interface device further including a protective outer cover having an integrated override feature operable for permitting access to the provider portion and the subscriber portion of the base in one step. The network interface device also includes an improved terminating device having a locking feature having a locking slide and a movable latch for preventing unauthorized access to the interior of the terminating device. The network interface device further comprises a sealing grommet having a wave like shape for sealingly enveloping provider or subscriber lines that are routed into the base, thereby preventing outside contaminants from entering.

    • A network interface device (NID) for a fiber optic communications network is provided for housing optical, electrical and/or coaxial connections and active and/or passive components. The NID includes a base and a movable panel defining a connections area and a components area. In one embodiment, a first base defines a first compartment for housing the panel and a second base defining a second compartment for storing drop cable slack, the first base being movably attached to the second base to provide access to the drop cable slack without disturbing the connections. In another embodiment, the panel defines a first compartment for optical and electrical connections and a second compartment for active and passive components, the second compartment being accessible to only the service provider. In another embodiment, the panel is removable and interchangeable to permit the service provider to upgrade the services or to expand services provided to a subscriber.

    • Embodiments of the present invention include a seat back assembly comprising a seat back with a recess and a tray table assembly. The table body is configured to substantially fit within the recess. An amenity compartment may also be coupled to the seat back above the tray table assembly and may be configured to also substantially fit within the recess. The amenity compartment may be a bezel or an upper literature pocket. A latching mechanism releasably engages the tray table assembly with the amenity compartment. The amenity compartment may be coupled to the seat back via a hook that engages a slotted bracket on the seat back and projections that engage receptacles on the seat back. A protective covering may be inserted between the seat back and the amenity compartment and coupled to the seat back without additional fasteners. The protective covering may be a full shroud, a partial shroud, or a dress cover.

    • An installation closure having fiber management apparatus includes an outer shell and at least one cable centralizer disposed within the outer shell at a factory-assembled access location on a fiber optic distribution cable. The cable centralizer has a central channel for retaining the distribution cable and at least one routing slot for routing an optical fiber preterminated from the distribution cable at the access location. At least a portion of the outer shell is removed following deployment of the distribution cable and replaced with a conventional closure. An optical connector may be mounted upon the end of the preterminated optical fiber and the installation closure may further include an end centralizer having a central channel for retaining the distribution cable and at least one connector slot for retaining the connector. The replacement closure includes at least one connector port for receiving the connector from the inside of the installation closure.
