    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective type liquid crystal display device so improved to display a screen like a translucent liquid crystal display device even in a dark state wherein light introduced from outside is weak. SOLUTION: The reflective type liquid crystal display device 100 includes: an upper substrate 110 provided with a polarizing plate on one surface; a lower substrate 120 spaced away from the other surface of the upper substrate 110; a liquid crystal layer 130 disposed between the upper substrate 110 and lower substrate 120; a color filter layer 111 formed on the other surface of the upper substrate; a self-luminous body 112 provided side by side with the color filter layer 111 in a region besides a pixel region so as to radiate light by itself depending on an electric current; and a transparent ITO layer 113 formed on the other side of the color filter layer 111 and the self-luminous body 112. It is possible to operate the liquid crystal display device 100 without degradation of reflection efficiency in a dark state wherein light introduced from outside is weak.
