    • Provided are a pouch and a pouch type secondary battery, which includes an accommodating part having an inner space, and a cover part integrally formed with the accommodating part and covering an opening of the accommodating part. A bending extension is disposed around an interface between the accommodating part and the cover part. When the pouch into which the accommodating part and the cover part are integrated is assembled, the cover part is bent, and then, a contact surface between the accommodating part and the cover part is sealed, thereby sealing the inside of the pouch. At this point, the bending extension disposed on the interface disposed between the accommodating part and the cover part is also sealed to thereby prevent external moisture from being introduced through the interface after the sealing of the pouch.

    • Disclosed herein is a secondary battery which comprises a film (“safety film”) including expansible graphite that generates inflammable gas at a high temperature and polyurethane that causes an endothermic reaction and generates char at a high temperature. The safety film is disposed in the battery. The secondary battery according to the present invention has effects in that the safety film can be easily attached to a region of the secondary battery where the operating components of the secondary battery are not affected, and the secondary battery exhibiting excellent inflammability is manufactured without deteriorating the efficiency of the secondary battery.

    • Provided is a lithium secondary battery which uses a lithium manganese metal oxide as a cathode active material and a non-graphitic carbon material as an anode active material, and based on the total weight of the electrolyte, contains 0.1 to 20% by weight of a salt represented by Formula I in a lithium salt-containing non-aqueous electrolyte: R4X+YZn−  (I) wherein R, X, Y, Z and n are as defined in the specification. The lithium secondary battery of the present invention can improve low-temperature properties of the battery by increasing the lithium ion-electrode reactivity and decreasing the electrode-interface resistance, via the formation of a charge double layer at the cathode-anode interface upon charging/discharging of the battery at a low temperature, and therefore can be preferably used in medium/large battery systems such as power sources for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) requiring operation under severe conditions.
