    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple detection method capable of discriminating serovars (Enteritidis, Infantis, Typhimurium, Choleraesuis, Dublin, Heidelberg, and Schwarzengrund) among Salmonellas leading to troubles mainly in a stock raising site; and an easy discrimination method capable of directly performing multiple polymerase chain reaction (PCR) without isolating Salmonellas from a test sample-derived enrichment culture solution.SOLUTION: The multiple PCR serovar discrimination method is characterized by the use of a primer set for amplifying Salmonella-specific invA genes as well as primer sets with specific sequences specific to respective serovars, primer sets specific to Typhimurium, specific to Infantis, specific to Choleraesuis, specific to Dublin, specific to Heidelberg and specific to Schwarzengrund.
