摘要： A multi-pole circuit breaker is provided with a molded insulating housing defining an internal chamber wherein the mechanical trip free contact operating mechanism is disposed, an external recess wherein an auxiliary switch unit is removably mounted, and an external cavity wherein a shunt trip assembly is removably mounted. The switch unit includes one switch operable by the mechanism as it opens and closes the circuit breaker contacts and a second switch operated by the latchable cradle of the mechanism to indicate automatic tripping. The shunt trip assembly includes an electromagnet having an operating member which engages the cradle latch to release the latter.

A single coil spring wound around the actuator is compression loaded to bias the actuator forward and is torsionally loaded to bias the actuator opposed to said first direction.

摘要： A terminal support assembly suitable for encapsulation by a molded resinous block wherein transformer windings are disposed, is constructed of an elongated relatively stiff resilient support member and a plurality of U-shaped terminal members. The terminal members are mounted to and retained in operative position on the support member solely by a snap-fit interlocking engagement with the latter. In this operative position slight relative movement between the terminals and support member is permitted to compensate for tolerances involved in subsequent operations connecting the assembly to other elements.

摘要： A trip-free contact operating mechanism is provided with a latching system for maintaining a releasable cradle in its reset position. The latching system includes a lever mounted on a fixed pivot and having one end latchable by a cam member movable by a fault current responsive automatic trip means. A latch pin mounted in slots at the other end of the lever is engageable with the cradle for maintaining the latter in reset position. The latch pin is movable mounted on the lever in a manner such that the former may rotate about its axis, it may move lengthwise of the mounting slots, and the pin may pivot about an axis perpendicular to the pin axis and in the vicinity of one end of the pin.

摘要： A multi-pole circuit breaker is provided with a trip bar subassembly including a molded bar having integrally formed bearings defining a pivot axis for the subassembly remote from the bar. The bar also includes an integrally formed projection for releasing a latch of a trip free contact operating mechanism. The subassembly also includes an extension unit of formed sheet metal and an elongated pin pivotally connecting the unit to the bar. The unit includes an elongated main section and links individually connected to overload sensing devices of each pole. The links are spaced along the length of the main section extending transverse to the longitudinal axis thereof with the latter being generally parallel to the pin.
