摘要： A bone displacement assembly for use during a medical procedure including preparing soft bone includes a cannula and a probe that is removably inserted into the cannula. The probe includes a curved tip designed to mechanically displace soft bone and to prepare the bone tissue for subsequent treatment such as cement injection. The probe also includes a handle assembly that connects with the cannula and also includes one control device for independently rotating the distal tip and a second control device to independently translate the distal tip.

摘要： A stabilization device for use with a system for the percutaneous stabilization of adjacent vertebrae includes an elongated body having a radius of curvature, a leading end and a trailing end, wherein the trailing end is shaped and dimensioned to protrude from a pedicle surface once it is properly introduced within a vertebral body. It also an object of the present invention to a method for the percutaneous stabilization of adjacent vertebral bodies. The method includes inserting first and second elongated stabilization devices within the vertebrae such that they extend between adjacent vertebral bodies to securely stabilize the adjacent vertebral bodies, wherein the trailing ends of the first and second stabilization devices protrude from a pedicle surface once inserted within the vertebrae.

摘要： A catheter apparatus is provided for reducing blood clotting in connection with hemodialysis treatment. The catheter apparatus can comprise a first conduit defining an arterial lumen and a second conduit defining a venous lumen. Large staggered apertures can be provided in side walls of the conduits with at least one of the apertures having a cross-sectional area equal or greater than a cross-sectional area of one of the lumens. The catheter apparatus can further include first and second removable obturators adapted for axial insertion into the conduits and for occluding the apertures while so inserted. Advantageously, the obturators can wipe the apertures during removal, causing blood clots incident on the apertures to be dislodged from the apertures. Related methods for using the catheter apparatus in performing hemodialysis treatment are also provided.
