    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniform luminance of a plurality of light emitting diodes used in a backlight.
      SOLUTION: A driving device and a luminance adjusting method for the backlight using light emitting diodes are provided. The driving device for the backlight using light emitting diodes includes a control module and a light modulation module. It also includes a current adjusting module which obtains adjustment information to individually adjust the current of each light emitting diode of the backlight and individually adjusts the current of each light emitting diode based on the adjustment information. The luminance adjusting method of the backlight using the light emitting diodes includes a step of obtaining the adjustment information to individually adjust the current of each light emitting diode of the backlight, and a step of adjusting the current of each light emitting diode of the backlight based on the adjustment information. Accordingly, luminance of each diode of the backlight is uniformed by individually adjusting the current of each light emitting diode of the backlight, and quality of an image is improved.

      SOLUTION: The driving device includes a liquid crystal panel, a gate driver, a data driver and a timing controller. The timing controller is connected with the gate driver, the data driver and a backlight source, and is used for generating a gray level data signal and an internal logic synchronization signal in accordance with an input signal, and generating a gate scanning control signal, a data input control signal and a backlight source control signal in accordance with the internal logic synchronization signal and timing of data transmission channels, such that the backlight source is turned-off between the end time of the gate scanning control signal of the last line of the present frame and the start time of the gate scanning control signal of the first line of the next frame. By controlling the backlight source to be turned-off between two frames so as to make the liquid crystal panel generate periodic black pictures, thereby the blur of the motion image due to the persistence of vision is effectively improved, and the picture quality is improved. Meanwhile, the power consumption is reduced.
