    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that in an area-controllable backlight, each of light emitting regions are located at each of different positions on a liquid crystal panel and a corresponding LED lamp is arranged on each light emitting region and a driving circuit has to be arranged at each of the light emitting regions respectively so as to control turning on/off of the corresponding LED lamp in order to realize an area-control, and circuit design becomes difficult since concentrated arrangement of these driving circuits becomes difficult since these light emitting regions are independently separated comparatively in view of space positions and the arranged driving circuits also have to correspond to the positions of the corresponding light emitting regions.SOLUTION: The backlight is provided with an optical fiber light-emitting panel having at least one optical fiber light-emitting unit and at least one illumination lamp. Each of the optical fiber light-emitting units has a connected light-emitting part and a light guiding part, and the light-emitting part forms a planar light emitting region and the light guiding part extends up to an edge part of one side of the optical fiber light-emitting panel and the illumination lamp is provided on an edge face of the light guiding part.
