In one configuration, the flow control member defines a regulation channel in fluid communication with a lumen of a cannula, wherein the flow control member is configured to adjustably alter an effective flow distance between the lumen of the cannula and an interior of an evacuated collection container. In another configuration, the flow control member is positioned to vary an effective cross-sectional area of at least one of an inlet port and an outlet port adapted to be in fluid communication with the lumen and the evacuated collection container.

摘要： A shieldable needle device (12) including a first drive member (28) and a second drive member (30) is disclosed. The two drive members is extendable between a biased position and an extended position for moving a tip guard (24) from an first position to a second position in which the tip guard shields a distal end (34) of a needle cannula (20). The shieldable needle device includes a retainer member (26) supporting the proximal end of the needle cannula, the retainer member being movable between an open position and a retaining position. The retainer member retains the first drive member and the second drive member in the biased position thereby maintaining the tip guard in the first position, and movement of the retainer member from the retaining position to the open position releases retainment of the first drive member and the second drive member thereby allowing the first drive member and the second drive member to transition to the extended position and move the tip guard from the first position to the second position.

摘要： A biological fluid sampling device adapted to receive a blood sample and includes a housing having a reservoir disposed therein and a first cavity in fluid communication with the reservoir is disclosed. The biological fluid sampling device includes a first test element removably receivable within the first cavity and a lancet having a puncturing element. Additionally, the housing may include a second cavity in fluid communication with the reservoir and a second test element removably receivable within the second cavity. With the blood sample received within the reservoir of the biological fluid sampling device, the first test element and the second test element are adapted to receive a portion of the blood sample. In this manner, the biological fluid sampling device allows for a blood sample to be collected on a plurality of test elements simultaneously. In one embodiment, the biological fluid sampling device contains a sample stabilizer.
