    • The systems and methods described herein provide for multiple transducer configurations for use in medical ultrasound imaging systems. A medical device has a rotatable imaging device located therein for imaging an internal body lumen or cavity. The imaging device can include multiple transducers each configured to image a separate tissue depth or range of tissue depths. The transducers can be configured to operate over separate frequency ranges, with separate physical focuses or any combination thereof. Also provided is an image processing system configured to combine the image data collected from each transducer into a tissue image.

    • The field of the invention relates to medical imaging systems, and more particularly to systems and methods for estimating the size and position of a stent or other medical device within a patient. In one embodiment, a medical imaging system includes a catheter having distal and proximal ends, configured to be inserted into a vessel of a patient, an imaging device coupled to the distal end of the catheter and configured to emit one or more energy pulses and receive one or more echo signals, and a console electrically coupled to the imaging device, wherein the console includes a computer-usable medium, electrically coupled to the imaging device, having a sequence of instructions which, when executed by a processor, causes said processor to execute a process including generating an image of the vessel, and providing a graphical representation of a stent to be overlaid onto the image.

    • An imaging assembly for an intravascular ultrasound system includes a catheter, an imaging core, and at least one transducer conductor. The imaging core is insertable into the catheter and extendable from a distal end of the catheter.     • A catheter assembly for an intravascular ultrasound system includes an imaging core disposed in a lumen of a catheter. The imaging core includes a stepper motor that rotates a mirror coupled to a driveshaft. The stepper motor provides step-wise rotation of the driveshaft using a rotatabSe magnet and at least two magnetic field windings disposed around at least a portion of the magnet. At least one fixed transducer is positioned between the stepper motor and the mirror. The stepper motor permits stepwise rotation of the driveshaft with steps of 3 degrees or less. At least one transducer conductor is electrically coupled to the at least one transducer and in electrical communication with a proximal end of the catheter. At least one motor conductor is electrically coupled to the magnetic field windings and in electrical communication with the proximal end of the catheter.

    • An auscultation system aids a clinician's diagnosis of the heart sounds by visually displaying at least an S1 heart sound and an S2 heart sound, and ascertaining an onset of at least one of the heart sounds. A corresponding audio representation of the heart sounds can be provided to the clinician. The auscultation system includes a sensor for sensing heart sounds from at least one chest location of the patient and for transducing the heart sounds into electrical signals. The auscultation system also includes a signal processor for selectively filtering the electrical signals thereby highlighting frequency differences of the heart sounds, and further includes a video display for selectively displaying the selectively filtered electrical heart signals. In some embodiments, the auscultation system also displays calipers corresponding to the time domain and the frequency domain of the heart sounds, permitting the clinician to zoom in and out portions of the heart sounds of particular interest and also to take more accurate measurements of these portions of the heart sounds.
