    • The invention relates to a battery, in particular a lithium-metal battery or a lithium-ion battery, comprising at least one galvanic cell (1) surrounded by a cell housing (2,2'). The aim of the invention is to increase the safety of the battery and to re-close a cell (1) opened by means of a safety device (2') or due to a leakage. To this end, the inner chamber (3) of the cell housing (2, 2') of the at least one cell (1) contains a first chemical component (A), a chamber (13) adjacent to at least one section of the outer side of the cell housing (2, 2') of the at least one cell (1) contains a second chemical component (B), a solid chemical reaction product (AB) being formed by the chemical reaction of the first chemical component (A) and the second chemical component (B). In particular, the first component (A) can be contained in the electrolyte of the cell (1) and the second component (B) in cooling and/or temperature control means.
