    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality in pressure adjustment by using the first and second pressure adjusting means in the first and second conditions for adjusting and setting the pressure, and distinguishing these conditions on the basis of the adjustment deviation between the target pressure and the actual pressure. SOLUTION: A target-setting part 200 sends a pressure target value PS of the rail pressure to a joint point 210 with a positive polarity, and an output signal P of a pressure sensor 140 is added to a second input side of the joint point 210 with a negative polarity. An input side 2 of a switching means 205 inputting an output signal of the joint point 210 is selectively connected to the output sides 1, 0 to be connected to the input sides of the first and second adjusting units 220, 225 capable of outputting the output signals Q1S, Q2S, of the switching means 205. The joint point 210 determines the adjustment deviation, the first and second operating conditions are distinguished by this adjustment deviation, the first adjustment unit 220 is used only in the case of the positive adjustment deviation, that is, in the formation of pressure, the second adjustment unit 225 is used, only in the case when the reduction of pressure and a switching part 208 switches the switching means 205 to a corresponding position on the basis of the adjustment deviation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a control characteristic by linearizing a control zone when a control signal is inputted from a controller to a regulator on the basis of a result comparing a target value and a real value of pressure in an accumulator with each other, and setting an amount corresponding to a fuel amount which is necessary for regulating pressure. SOLUTION: A pilot delivery pump 110 is connected to a fuel reservoir tank 100 through a first filter 105, and its delivery side is connected to a high pressure pump through a second filter means 115, and a value 120. The delivery side of the high pressure pump 125 is connected to a rail (an accumulator) 130 connected to a plurality of injector 131. Excess pressure of the rail 130 is returned to the fuel reservoir tank 100 through a pressure control valve (a regulator) 135. When the pressure control valve 135 is controlled, a control zone is linearized, an amount corresponding to a fuel amount which is necessary for generating pressure and/or reducing pressure is set by the controller, and a control signal is generated by comparing the its value and a real value with each other.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check the operation of a safety shut-off valve without causing undesirable characteristics of an internal combustion engine by shutting off the supply of fuel and judging that a failure occurs when a signal indicating fuel pressure rises when a safety means for shutting off the supply of fuel is checked in a predetermined operation condition. SOLUTION: While an engine is operated, a front pressure feed pump 20 scoops fuel in a fuel storage tank 10 to feed it under pressure to a high pressure feed pump 30, and fuel is fed under pressure to a rail 35 due to the operation of this high pressure feed pump 30 and is supplied to each fuel injection valve 61 to 66. A safety cut-off valve 25 is provided between these pumps 20 and 30. When the operation of this safety cut-off valve 25 is checked, a signal indicating that a driver attempts to shut off the operation of an internal combustion engine is applied to a terminal KL 15 of a control device 100. After the internal combustion engine stops, pressure of the fuel fed under pressure from the high pressure feed pump 30 to the rail 35 is increased, and it is judged that a failure of the safety cut-off valve 25 occurs when pressure rises above a predetermined difference in pressure from the start of a shut-off process.
