摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the engine efficiency by switching a cooling device on in the case where the knocking tendency is over a specific threshold value in a device where an intake cooling device is switched on in an area of high engine load, and switched off in an 2 area of low engine load for adjusting the intake temperature. SOLUTION: A cooling device 9 for adjusting the intake temperature is built in an intake pipe 2. This cooling device 9 has a structure that the intake temperature is cooled by the cooling airflow generated by a cooling fan 10 which is rotated by a driving device 11, and comprises a controller 12 for controlling the maneuvering of the driving device 11. The driving device 11 is switched off in an area of low engine load, and switched on in an area of high engine load. The knocking tendency of the engine is detected, and the driving device is controlled to be switched on even when the knocking tendency is over a specific threshold value, whereby the intake temperature is cooled and the generation of the knocking can be inhibited.

When the opening angles of an intake valve and an exhaust valve of a single cylinder overlap each other, post-injection is given, and the post-injection forms combustible air/fuel mixture in an exhaust system. By operating an additional ignition means in the exhaust system, this mixture is burned.

Since a converted value led out from an known nonlinear character curve is stored in the character map KFLD in a term of the fitting of the regulater, a suitable converted value can be made correspondent to each calculated value of the operation quantity in the usual operation term of the processor.
