摘要： A catheter and introducer needle assembly with a needle shield is provided. The needle shield includes a means for preventing unwanted distal movement of the needle once the needle has been withdrawn into the needle shield. The needle shield also includes a means for connecting the needle shield to the catheter hub until the sharp distal tip of the introducer needle has been withdrawn into the needle shield. Thus, when the distal end of the introducer needle extends from the distal portion of the needle shield, the needle shield is connected to the catheter hub and when the sharp distal end of the introducer needle is withdrawn into the needle shield, the needle shield is disconnected from the catheter hub.

摘要： A method and device for the delivery of a substance into skin via the rotational movement of a microabrader device reduces the effects of operator variability. The method includes applying a substance to an area of a patient's skin through the rotational movement of microprotrusions. The movement of the microprotrusions can be imparted by a spring device or the like present in the microabrader device or the motion of the operator through the handle of the microabrader device. The rotational motion localizes the administration of the drug or vaccine dosage in the abraded skin area. The device can include means for monitoring pressure of the device against the skin and thereby promote consistency between applications and control of penetration depth. The substance, drug or vaccine may be placed on the microprotrusions and a reconstituting liquid included in the microabrader device.

SOLUTION: A blood seal 10 contains a housing 12 with a near site end part 16 and a far site end part 14. The far site end part 14 is constituted so as to mount freely removably a catheter. The near site end part 16 is constituted so as to fit a needle hub 20. The housing 12 contains an inner channel 24 provided in the housing and is constituted so as to pass the needle through the channel. An elastic seal 26 is fixed on the channel 24 to prevent substantially a fluid from flowing out through the channel 24. The seal 26 is pref. formed of an elastic material and blocks substantially the inner channel to the flow of the fluid when the needle 22 passes through the seal and thereafter, it is removed.

One or more rings are allocated at the periphery of the plug at the end tip side of an access runs down in radial direction, and a liquid tight seal is formed in between the back flow chamber and a injector 50 which stores the back flow chamber.

SOLUTION: An adapter 10 with valve is provided with a main body 12 which is equipped with a base end, terminal end and chamber having an inner surface and has a lengthwise axial line. The hollow pipe 28 has at least one side part port 36 opened inside the hole 30 arranged on the terminal end side of the closed terminal part. The valve 26 is provided with an elastic member coaxially arranged around the hollow pipe 28, and the elastic member is made eccentric so as to close the side part port 36 at the always closed position. By moving the elastic member toward the terminal end and exposing the side part port 36 over eccentric force, the valve 26 is opened and a fluid flows through the valve 26.
