If n is 1, R is 1-12 C alkyl, 5-12 C cycloalkyl, opt. with 1-4 C alkyl and/or halogen substit(s)., or 7 C arylalkyl, opt. with 1-4 C alkyl and/or halogen substits.; R' is halogen, 1-4 C alkyl, NO2, CN, COCl, COF, a 1-12 C carbonamide gp., opt. with an O atom in the amide pt., a carboxylic ester gp. with a 1-12 C alcohol component or 1-12 C alkoxy. If n is 2, R is a 2-12 C alkylene gp., opt. with halogen substit(s)., or a 5-12 C cycloalkylene, 6-10 C arylene or 8 C aralkylene gp., opt. with halogen and/or 1-4 C alkyl substit(s). If x is 2-5, R' is halogen or 1-4C alkyl. (I) are specified for use as vulcanisation retarders in natural and/or synthetic rubber. They do not cause discolouration of the vulcanisate or have a negative effect on crosslinking, recognisable in a redn. in the tensile strength.
