    • The invention relates to compositions for treating hard surfaces and containing a water-soluble or water-dispersible compound, as constituent A, that can be obtained by the reaction of aa) polyalkylene polyamines, polyamidoamines, polyamidoamines grafted by ethyleneimine, polyetheramines, and mixtures of the cited compounds, as constituent Aa; ab) optionally at least bifunctional crosslinkers that comprise, as a functional group, a halogenhydrine, glycidyl, aziridine or isocyanate unit, or a halogen atom, as constituent Ab; ac) monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids, salts, esters, amides or nitriles of monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids, chorocarboxylic acids and/or glycidyl compounds such as glycidyl acid, glycidyl amide or glycidyl esters; and water.     • The invention relates to aqueous dispersions of water-soluble and/or water-swellable anionic polymers, which can be obtained by the radical polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated anionic monomers in an aqueous medium in the presence of at least one stabiliser. According to the invention, the polymerisation is carried out in the presence of at least one water-soluble polymer, acting as a stabiliser, from the following groups: (a) polymers of vinyl acetate and/or vinyl propionate grafted onto (i) polyethylene glycols or (ii) polyethylene glycols or polypropylene glycols, whose end groups are terminated on one or both sides with alkyl, carboxyl or amino groups, polyalkylene glycols, or polyalkylene glycols, whose end groups are terminated on one or both sides with alkyl, carboxyl or amino groups and (b) water-soluble copolymers consisting of (b1) non-ionic monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, (b2) cationic monoethylenically unsaturated monomers and optionally (b3) anionic monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, the fraction of the polymerised cationic monomers being greater than that of the anionic monomers. The invention also relates to a method for producing the aqueous dispersions by the radical polymerisation of the anionic monomers in an aqueous medium in the presence of the aforementioned water-soluble polymers (a) and (b), in addition to the use of the aqueous dispersions as thickening agents for aqueous systems.
