    • Filter for purification of liquid dispersions, with automatically charging, pressurised filter candles, and having feed, processing, and discharge stations, comprises (i) a rotatable cylindrical disk (1), with stationary bottom plates, (2,3) and several through penetrating bores (5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) arranged internally adjacent to the outer edge of the cylindrical disk (1), and several openings arranged in axial opposed fashion around the periphery of the bottom plates (2,3); (ii) a feed station (13) for introducing filter candles (19) from a magazine, axially through an aperture (21) in bottom plate (3), into a bore (5) of the cylindrical disk (1); (iii) a deaeration station (14) to displace air by introduction of liquid under pressure via line (20) and expelling air via corresponding line (20') (iv) an operating station (15) where the impure liquid is fed via a manifold channel (4) in the bottom plate (3) simultaneously, inner pressure, to at least two of the candles, and purified liquid leaves via manifold channel (4') in bottom plate (2), (v) an expression and dying station (16) to axially compress each of the filter candles, expelling residual liquid and dying with a purge gas, (vi) a rejection station to axially press out the compressed filter candle in a direction opposite to the liquid fill direction, (vii) a cleaning station (18) to brush clean (28) the walls of the bores. USE/ADVANTAGE - Maximising continuous solvent recovery from dispersions containing magnetic particles, pigments and polymeric binders, and minimising vapour emissions and pressure drop.

    • A filtering device is described, in which a multiplicity of filter elements (1) are situated in the interior of a filter housing (7), which filter elements hang from the filter lid (3), the interior bore holes of the filter cartridges being connected to the outlet connector (6) via a channel system. At the wall of the filter housing (7) there lies a film bag (2), the top end of which is fused to an O-ring (4), which is seated in an annular groove on the flange of the filter housing, the diameters of O-ring and film bag being identical. Furthermore, between the film bag (2) and interior wall of the filter housing and in the interior of the filter cartridges are provided volume displacement bodies (16, 17, 25), which extend in axial direction over the entire length of the filter housing. When changing the filter, these volume displacement bodies are for example inflated with compressed air, as a result of which the remaining filtrate volume is considerably reduced, so that less dispersion loss occurs. The arrangement described permits the filter to be changed easily and provides advantages in the disposal of residues.
