    • The invention relates to a modified Ziegler catalyst for preparing a poly-1-olefin in suspension, in solution or in the gas phase, which catalyst comprises the reaction product of a magnesium alkoxide (component a) with a transition metal compound (component b) and an organometallic compound (component c) together with an additional component (d) comprising a compound of the chemical formula M - Rx where M is an element of main group IV of the Periodic Table, R is halogen or an organic radical such as alkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, oxyalkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having from 4 to 8 carbon atoms in the ring and, if desired, from 1 to 6 substituents R' on the ring, aryl having from 6 to 10 carbon atoms in the aromatic and, if desired, from 1 to 6 substituents R' on the aromatic, where R' is a halogen or an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an OH group or an NO2 group or an oxyalkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and x is an integer from 1 to 4. The invention also relates to a process for preparing the Ziegler catalyst and to the homopolymerization or copolymerization of 1-olefins in its presence.

    • Un procedimiento par la preparación de un polímero de olefina, mediante la (co)polimerización de etileno o de etileno con un porcentaje de hasta un 10 %, en peso, en base a la cantidad total de monómeros, de una 1-olefina de la fórmula R-CH>=CH2, en donde, R, es un radical alquilo de cadena lineal o de cadena ramificada, el cual tiene de 1 a 12 átomos de carbono, en suspensión, en solución, o en fase de gas, a una temperatura comprendida dentro de unos márgenes que van desde los 20 °C hasta los 120 °C, y a una presión correspondiente a un valor comprendido dentro de unos márgenes que van desde los 0,2 MPa a los 6,0 MPa, en presencia de un catalizador, que comprende un componente (A) el cual comprende el producto de reacción de un alcóxido de magnesio, con un compuesto de transición tetravalente, y un componente (B), seleccionado de entre los compuestos de trialquilaluminio, que tienen de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono, en el radical alquilo, preparándose, el citado componente (A), mediante un procedimiento que comprende las siguientes etapas: (a) suspender o dispersar, como un gel, en un disolvente inerte, un alcóxido de magnesio de la fórmula I Mg(OR1)(OR2) (I), en donde, R1 y R2, son idénticas o diferentes, y son, cada una de ellas, radicales alquilo no ramificados o ramificados, los cuales tienen de 1 a 20 átomos de carbono, o un radical (CH2)nOR3; R3, es un radical alquilo, el cual tiene de 1 a 4 átomos de carbono; y n es un número entero de 2 a 6, (b) hacer reaccionar o suspensión o dispersión en concordancia con (a), con un compuesto de metal de transición, tetravalente, de la fórmula II M1Xm(OR4)4-m (II), en donde, M1, es titanio, R4, es un radical alquilo, el cual comprende de 1 a 9 átomos de carbono; X, es cloro; y m, es un número entero de cero a 4; a una temperatura comprendida dentro de unos márgenes que van desde los 20 °C hasta los 140 °C, en un factor de relación molar de Mg : M1 de 1 : 0,05 - 10; (c) proceder a someter a un post-tratamiento térmico, a la suspensión procedente de la etapa (b), a una temperatura correspondiente a un valor comprendido dentro de unos márgenes que van desde los 100 °C hasta los 140 °C, durante un transcurso de tiempo que va desde los 20 minutos hasta los 180 minutos. (d) lavar la suspensión procedente de la etapa (c), hasta que, el licor madre del sobrenadante, tenga unas concentraciones de Cl y de Ti, de menos de 10 mmol / l.

A Ziegler catalyst for preparing 1-olefin homopolymers and copolymers by polymerization of a 1-olefin having a formula R4CH=CH2, in suspension, in solution or in the gas phase, comprises a reaction product of a magnesium alkoxide (a) with a transition metal compound (b) and an organometallic compound (c) together with an additional component (d) comprising a compound of formula M-Rx. R4 = hydrogen or 1-10C alkyl; M = an element of main group IV of the Periodic Table; R = halogen, or an organic radical, e.g. 1-10C alkyl; 1-10C oxyalkyl; 4-8C cycloalkyl optionally having from 1 to 6 substituents R' on the ring; 6-10C aryl optionally having 1-6 substituents R': R' = halogen or 1-4C alkyl, OH, NO2, or a 1-4C oxyalkyl; x = 1-4.
