摘要： Ratchet wrenches (510) and socket (527) combinations using a magnetic ratchet clutch apparatus are disclosed, one of which defines a "through hole" for allowing bolts to pass entirely through the socket (527) and the wrench head (512) so that a nut can be threaded on a bolt of any length. The head (512) defines a chamber in which a ratchet wheel (516) is received for rotation relative to the wrench head (512). The chamber (516) also has pockets (524) for receiving and positioning pawls (518) adjacent the wheel (516) to facilitate their movement between a drive and release positions. A permanent ring magnet (522) is mounted to one side of the wheel (516) for socket retention and attracting the pawls (518) to allow movement of at least one pawl into the drive position in which it is between the ratchet wheel and a wall of the pocket to lock the head (512) and wheel (516) together so that a drive stroke can be made with the wrench.
