摘要： The present invention provides a system for imaging an object comprising: an optical imaging unit for imaging an object on a detection array, the optical imaging unit defining an optical axis and comprising a multicore fiber configured to collect light from the object at an input edge of the multicore fiber and transfer collected light to an output edge of the multicore fiber; a displacing unit configured to shift the input edge of the multicore fiber relatively to the object in a plane substantially perpendicular to the optical axis to obtain a set of shifted images of the object; and an operating unit configured to operate the displacing unit by setting a shifting amplitude to either a first amplitude inferior or equal to the diameter of a core of the multicore fiber or a second amplitude superior or equal to the diameter of the multicore fiber.

摘要： A system is presented for collecting and concentrating light from a moving light source (e.g. the Sun). The system comprises at least one anamorphic optical element, defining an optical axis and a projection region and having a predetermined effective aperture which defines primary and secondary axes. The effective aperture is configured for collection of optical radiation arriving from a predetermined solid collection angle defining a first range of angles with respect to a plane spanned by said optical and primary axes. The anamorphic optical element is configured such that light passing through said effective aperture within a predetermined first range of angles within said predetermined solid collection angle is concentrated onto at least a part of said projection region. At least one receiver aperture is defined by at least a part of said projection region.

摘要： A system and method are presented for use in monitoring one or more conditions of a subject's body. The system comprises a control unit which comprises an input port for receiving image data, a memory utility, and a processor utility. The image data is indicative of data measured by a pixel detector array and is in the form of a sequence of speckle patterns generated by a portion of the subject's body in response to illumination thereof by coherent light according to a certain sampling time pattern. The memory utility stores one or more predetermined models, the model comprising data indicative of a relation between one or more measurable parameters and one or more conditions of the subject's body. The processor utility is configured and operable for carrying out the following: processing the image data and determining a spatial correlation function between successive speckle patterns in the sequence, and determining a time varying spatial correlation function in the form of a time-varying function of at least one feature of the correlation function, the time-varying spatial correlation function being indicative of a change of the speckle pattern over time; selecting at least one parameter of the time-varying spatial correlation function, and applying to said at least one parameter one or more of the models to determine one or more corresponding body conditions; and generating output data indicative of said one or more corresponding body conditions.

摘要： A mask for enhancing the depth of focus of an optical imaging system is designed by optimizing an optical property (transmittance or reflectance) of the mask relative to the intensity distribution in the system's image plane. Preferably, a desired PSF intensity is selected, a desired misfocus parameter range is selected, and the optical property is adjusted to minimize a measure of the departure of the system's PSF intensity, as computed from the mask's optical property, from the desired PSF intensity, over the entire misfocus parameter range. Most preferably, the desired PSF intensity is selected as the inverse Fourier transform of a desired OTF. Preferably, the mask is fabricated as a DOE.

摘要： A method for providing spectral and temporal stealthy information transmitted over an optical communication channel, according to which, at the transmitting side, the power spectral density of a pulse sequence bearing the information is reduced by encrypting the temporal phase of the pulse sequence. The power of the pulse sequence is spread in the frequency domain, to be below the noise level, by sampling the pulse sequence. Spectral phase encoding is used to temporally spread the pulse sequence and to prevent coherent addition of its spectral replicas in frequency domain. The resulting signal, encrypted both in time and frequency domains, is then transmitted. Spectral phase decoding is performed at the receiving side by performing coherent detection and folding all the spectral replicas of the transmitted signal to the baseband by means of sampling. The temporal phase of the signal is decrypted and the information which is delivered by the pulse sequence is decoded.
