    • The device of the invention for positioning and/or releasing an object in a body lumen, comprising a liquid filled tube (22) detachably connected to an injecting apparatus (27) at its proximal end (22b) and to a holding and releasing unit (26) having a bore (28) configured to hold and release the object (23), at its distal end (22a). The holding and releasing unit (26) is connected to the tube such that liquid can pass from the tube (22) into the holding and releasing unit bore (28). The object (23) is then released by activating the injecting apparatus (27) to achieve an hydraulic pressure in the holding and releasing unit bore (28) which is higher than the frictional force exerted by the holding and releasing unit (26) on the object (23).
