    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire drawing apparatus which, while simplifying maintenance work, can easily meet a demand for adjustment and change in the degree of diameter reduction and deformation of a wire depending upon a wire material kind and contemplated finished wire diameter, and a method of manufacturing a wire.SOLUTION: The wire drawing apparatus comprises a wire rod supply part 22, a wire rod take-over part 26, a first capstan mechanism part 30, and a second capstan mechanism part 40. The first capstan mechanism part 30 comprises a plurality of first capstans 32 (1) to 32 (8), one first rotary drive source 34, and a first rotary transmission mechanism part 36 that transmits the rotary drive force in the first rotary drive source 34 to the first capstans. The second capstan mechanism part 40 comprises a plurality of second capstans 42 (9) to 42 (15) and a plurality of second rotary drive sources 44 that individually drive the second capstans by rotary driving. A die 60 is provided between the first capstans 32 (1) to 32 (8) and the second capstans 42 (9) to 42 (15).

      SOLUTION: This wire conductor 10a is formed by intertwining seven copper element wires 12 with one stainless steel element wire 14. The stainless steel element wire 12 is small in a coefficient of elongation smaller than that of the copper element wire 12, and formed to increase a cross-sectional area. The wire conductor 10a may be circularly compressed. It is preferable that the cross-sectional area of the wire conductor 10a is ≤0.3 mm
