    • A power supply system is provided, having: a primary side coil; a power transmission apparatus having a primary side circuit for feeding a pulse voltage resulted from switching a DC voltage which is obtained by rectifying and smoothing a commercial power supply to the primary side coil; a secondary side coil magnetically coupled to the primary side coil; and power reception equipment having a secondary side circuit for rectifying and smoothing voltage induced across the secondary side coil, wherein there is provided a power adjusting section for adjusting a level of power to be transmitted according to power required by the power reception equipment. The power adjusting section has, in the primary side circuit, a carrier wave oscillation circuit for supplying a carrier wave to the primary side coil, a demodulation circuit for demodulating a modulated signal transmitted from the secondary circuit and received by the primary side coil, and a power change-over section for selecting a level of power to be transmitted according to an information signal from the power reception equipment and demodulated by the demodulation circuit. The power adjusting section has, in the secondary side circuit, a modulation circuit for modulating the carrier wave fed from the carrier wave oscillation circuit and received by the secondary side coil with the information signal from the power reception equipment and transmitting the modulated signal.

    • Herein described are a motion estimation method and a motion estimation apparatus for calculating a motion vector to estimate a current picture based on a reference picture. The current picture is partially formed by a current block represented by pel values. The reference picture is partially formed by a search window represented by pel values and having a plurality of candidate blocks. There are provided processor elements and side register units arranged in the form of a matrix array. The pel values of the search window are fed to the processor elements and the side register units. The pel values of the current block are fed to the processor elements. Between the processor elements and the side register units, are shifted pel values of the search window. The processor elements are designed to calculate distortion values each indicative of a difference between the current block and each of the candidate blocks on the basis of the received pel values of the search window and the received pel values of the current block. The method and apparatus are characterized in that, at one of the adjoining two columns of the matrix array, the pel values of the search window are shifted only in an upward direction, while, at the other of the adjoining two columns of the matrix array, the pel values of the search window are shifted only in a downward direction.

    • A logic circuit is provided which includes a plurality of basic circuits each of which has a pnp (or npn) transistor as a constant current load and at least one npn (or pnp) transistor each as a driver with a clamping Schottky diode. The base of the driver transistor is used as an input terminal and the collector thereof is used as an output terminal, for each basic circuit and the output terminal of the preceding stage basic circuit is coupled directly to the input terminal of the subsequent stage basic circuit. In order to prevent current hogging the load current supplied from the preceding stage constant current load transistor is set to operate the subsequent stage driver transistor in a saturation made when the subsequent stage driver transistor is in the ON state.
