    • Methods and apparatus are provided for processing and densifying recyclable materials. In one embodiment, a recyclable container densification device is provided for reliably rendering a bar code of a recyclable container unreadable. In another embodiment, the densification device is reconfigurable to be able to produce different types of recovered material from recyclable containers. In another embodiment, a chute is provided that promotes the entry of recyclable materials into a densification device by dropping the materials directly thereon. An additional embodiment includes a recycling system manufactured from densification modules that can be assembled to in different numbers and mixes to meet the needs of different customers.

    • A Dual Input, Single Output Low Dropout Regulator (LDO) includes two linear regulator circuits and control circuitry that produce an overlap period during change-over between a regulated supply voltage and an unregulated supply voltage wherein both supply voltages are coupled to the LDO output pin. The unregulated supply voltage is supplied, e.g., by a battery, and the regulated supply voltage is supplied from a switching-type DC-DC converter. First and second output devices are connected between the LDO output terminal and the unregulated and regulated supply voltages, respectively. The first regulator circuit causes the first output device to supply the desired regulated output voltage while the switching regulator ramps up. The regulator circuits then turn on the second output device and gradually turn off the output device, whereby the regulated output voltage transitions from the unregulated supply voltage to the regulated supply voltage is achieved without severe voltage transients.

    • A centralizer for a pipe or other elongate member is formed from a plurality of tubular bodies (16) each having a through passage (23) that is connected end-to-end to form a continuous passageway. Each of the tubular bodies (16) has a female connector portion (26) at one end and a male connector portion (24) at the opposite end that fits into the female connector portion (26) with longitudinal and/or angular play. The securing means in the form of a mounting flange (14) is also provided to fix the centralizer with respect to a J-tube through which the centralizer is to pass. The invention centralizes the elongate member in the J-tube and maintains the allowable minimum bending radius, whilst eliminating, or reducing to acceptable levels, the contact loads and abrasion on the elongate member.
