    • A two-section closure ring assembly for securing and sealing a removable lid or cover to an open head cylindrical drum, barrel, or container. This annular two-section drum-closing ring creates a drum-closing system that is much safer to install and remove a lid or cover on an open head drum. An annular two-section ring will prevent pinch points that exist when manually installing and removing the conventional one-piece closing rings. Hinges and conventional drum-closing ring fastening methods connect the multiple ring section ends. Rings of more than two sections can also be used to accomplish the same goal as the two-section drum-closing ring; although, efficiency would dictate a two-section ring to be more practical.

    • A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving, by a first line card coupled to minimally twisted or non-twisted pair cables, a very high digital subscriber line signal, modifying the very high digital subscriber line signal for transmission over the minimally twisted or non-twisted pair cables to generate an updated very high digital subscriber line signal that overcomes a transmission deficiency, and transmitting from the first line card the updated very high digital subscriber line signal to a second line card to cause the second line card to receive the adapted very high digital subscriber line signal at a desired signal quality and convert the updated very high digital subscriber line signal to a very high digital subscriber line signal for presentation of interactive television services at the customer premise equipment. Other embodiments are disclosed.

    • A method includes receiving power via a communication line at a power coupling device of a removable module coupled to a connector of a network interface device. The communication line is coupled to a service provider system that provides multiple services to a customer residence associated with the network interface device. The communication line provides first data associated with a first service of the multiple services to the network interface device. The method includes receiving, at a first service module of the removable module, second data associated with a second service of the multiple services, generating second processed data from the second data, and sending the second processed data to a device coupled to the network interface device. The method also includes generating operation power from the power at the power coupling device and providing the operation power to the removable module and the network interface device.
