    • The invention provides a well treatment composition comprising: a viscoelastic surfactant or a cementing composition and an environmentally friendly component made of cellulosic matrix with organic acid trapped within. A method is disclosed comprising introducing into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation an environmentally friendly component made of cellulosic matrix with organic acid trapped within.Also, the invention provides a method for rheology modification optimization of a viscoelastic surfactant, comprising: (a) defining a rheology profile of the viscoelastic surfactant; (b) defining a comparative rheology profile of a composition of the viscoelastic surfactant and a first environmentally friendly naturally occurring component made of cellulosic matrix with organic acid derivative trapped within; (c) repeating step (b) with a second environmentally friendly component made of cellulosic matrix with organic acid derivative trapped within; (d) defining between the first and second environmentally friendly components, environmentally friendly component showing optimum modification of the rheology based on analysis of the rheology profile and comparative rheology profile.

    • A system for use in a subterranean well includes a production tubing and a valve. The production tubing has a port to receive well fluid from a formation. The valve is mounted to the production tubing and includes a sealed housing, a motor, a valve cover, an actuator drive and a sensor. The motor is located inside the housing, and the actuator drive is actuated by the motor to move the valve cover over the port to selectively control the communication of the well fluid between the formation and the passageway of the tubing. The sealed housing may permit the well fluid to accumulate inside the housing over time. The sensor is located inside the housing and provides an indication of the amount of well fluid that has accumulated inside the housing. This information may be useful for such exemplary purposes as predicting when the valve will fail and for evaluating the condition of the valve.

    • In the representative embodiment of the new and improved apparatus disclosed herein, the apparatus, including a core of a specific material, couples a first unit to a second unit. The first unit may, for example, be a downhole tool, the second unit being surface equipment. The first unit may also be a video recorder or television camera, the second unit being a television monitor. The downhole tool adapted to be coupled in a pipe string and positioned in a well bore is provided with one or more electrical devices cooperatively arranged to receive power from surface power sources or to transmit and/or receive control or data signals from surface equipment. Unique inner and outer coil assemblies arranged on cores of a specific material are arranged on the downhole tool and a suspension cable for electromagnetically coupling the electrical devices to the surface equipment so that power and/or data or control signals can be transmitted between the downhole and surface equipment. The specific material, which comprises the cores of the inner and outer coil assemblies, must have a magnetic permeability greater than that of air and, simultaneously, an electrical resistivity greater than that of solid iron. By way of example, one such specific material, used in association with the preferred embodiment, is a ferrite material.
