    • A system node, and method in a radio telecommunication network for efficiently serving non-compliant mobile terminals (UE/MSs) and core network (CN) nodes without negatively affecting features available to compliant UE/MSs and nodes. A network service node such as an SGSN sends a standardized message to a UE/MS or CN node a reduced number of times while awaiting a response. If a proper response is not received, the SGSN removes “known problem” optional and/or conditional information elements from the message and sends an altered message to the UE/MS or CN node one or more times while awaiting a response. If the UE/MS or CN node responds to the altered message, it receives service with a reduced feature set. The SGSN may store an ID of the UE/MS or CN node in a list of non-compliant UE/MSs or CN nodes. In future sessions, the SGSN may send only the altered message to the UE/MS or CN node.

    • A method for moving MS in the manner of the least packet loss can be divided into two steps. In the first step, when the MS is still connected to the source CN node and is running the effective loads, the MS prepares the routing information pointing at the target CN node. In the second step, the connection between the source CN node and the RAN node is released, the MS ID, the context data and the mobile information are transmitted to the target CN node. Then, a new connection between the target CN node and the RAN node is established. The step is completed synchronously and rapidly to minimize the packet loss.     • The present invention relates to a method for context handling when a user equipment (10), UE, with established bearers towards a Gateway GPRS Support Node (11), GGSN, and a Packet Data Network GGSN (12), PGW-GGSN, moves from a previous Access Network, AN, to a present AN. The previous AN communicates with the GGSN (11) and the PGW-GGSN (12) via a previous Mobility Control Node (13), MCN. The present AN communicates with the PGW-GGSN (12) via a present MCN (14). The method comprises a step where the UE (10) detects (15) that it has entered a Mobility Area, MA, belonging to the present AN and requests for a Mobility Area Update, MAU, at the present MCN (14). The method is particularly characterized in the steps of: —The present MCN (14) derives (16) the previous MCN (13) from the MAU request and initiates a handshake procedure including exchange of capabilities with the previous MCN (13). —The present MCN (14) sends a context acknowledge message to the previous MCN (13) when it has accepted the MAU request and updated the established bearers towards the PGW-GGSN (12). —The previous MCN (13) removes at least one Packet Data Protocol, PDP, context existing in the GGSN (11) as a result of the context acknowledge message.
