    • An electrical connector for electrically connecting a central processing unit (CPU) to a printed circuit board (PCB) includes a housing, a number of contacts, and a number of solder balls. The housing has a number of passageways extending passing through the housing and a number of protrusions located outside the passageways and corresponding the passageways one-to-one.     • An electrical connector for use with an electronic package, includes a base plate and a top housing. The base plate has a number of contacts with mating portions extending upward beyond a top surface of base plate. The top housing has a plurality of through holes corresponding to the contacts and receives the mating portions. The top housing defines a pair of channels to allow the electronic package moving relative to the top housing in a horizontal direction, and then the top housing with the electronic package move relative to the base plate in a vertical direction such that the mating portions protrude from a top surface of the top housing and contact with the electronic package.

    • An electrical connector comprises an insulative housing defining a plurality of passageways, the passageways each defining an upper section, a lower section of a diameter larger than that of the upper section, and a plurality of contact sets respectively disposed in the passageways. Each of the contacts sets includes an upper contact loosely captured within the upper section and a lower contact retained in the lower section. The upper contact defines a lower end extending in the lower section and is able to abut against an interface between the two sections, so as to retrain upward movement of the upper contact. The upper contact is movable relating to the lower contact under condition that one of said upper contact and the lower contact is deformed to provide a restored force to ensure electrical connection between the two contacts when the upper contact is moved toward said lower contact.

    • An electrical connector for electrically connecting a central processing unit (CPU) comprises an insulating housing having a plurality of terminals received therein and a pick-up cap removably assembled to the insulating housing for carrying and placing the CPU onto the insulating housing. The insulating housing has a plurality of receiving slots sunk from top surfaces of two sidewalls thereof and a plurality of wedge-shaped grooves disposed between the receiving slots on one same sidewall. The pick-up cap defines a plurality of hooks extending therefrom for buckling to the insulating housing. The pick-up cap also defines a plurality of latches corresponding to the receiving slots and a plurality of releasing arms corresponding to the grooves. The latches received in the receiving slots can clasp the CPU to retain the CPU on the pick-up cap and be released the CPU when the releasing arms are pulled outwardly.
