摘要： A porous material of a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which can retain at least 90% of 0.109 .mu.m latex spheres and has a flow rate (IPA flow rate) of at least 0.6 ml/cm.sup.2 /min as measured with isopropyl alcohol under a differential pressure of 1 kg/cm.sup.2. A process for the production of a porous material of PTFE, which comprises, after forming a molded article from fine powder of PTFE by paste extrusion, (1) sintering the molded article, (2) rolling up the molded article thus sintered and heat-treating it at a temperature lower than the melting point of the polytetrafluoroethylene in a state as rolled up, and then (3) stretching the molded article thus heat-treated in at least an uniaxial direction. The porous material of PTFE according to the present invention has micropores and good permeability and particularly is excellent in performance of retaining fine particles.

摘要： Provided is a porous multilayer filter which can trap ultrafme particles and in which permeability is high and treatment can be performed at a high flow rate. A porous multilayer filter is characterized by including a support layer 2 composed of a porous expanded PTFE sheet, and a filtration layer 3 composed of a porous expanded PTFE sheet which is different from that of the support layer 2, wherein at least a liquid-to-be-treated inflow surface of the filtration layer 3 is subjected to hydrophilization treatment, the filtration layer 3 and the support layer 2 are fusion-bonded to each other at a boundary therebetween to form a multilayer structure, pores of the support layer 2 three-dimensionally communicate with pores of the filtration layer 3, and pores surrounded by a fibril skeleton of the filtration layer 3 are smaller than pores of the support layer 2.

A porous multi-layer filter, which is a laminated body of three porous stretched PTFE sheets that have been biaxially stretched in the longitudinal and transverse directions, includes a filtration layer as a middle layer, a protection layer stacked on one surface of the filtration layer on the liquid-to-be-treated inflow side, and a support layer stacked on another surface of the filtration layer, in which the one surface and the other surface of the filtration layer are fusion-bonded to the protection layer and the support layer at boundaries therebetween, pores of the protection layer and pores of the support layer three-dimensionally communicate with pores of the filtration layer, and the mean pore size of pores of the filtration layer is smaller than the mean pore size of pores of each of the protection layer and the support layer.

摘要： A method of extracting a particular nucleic acid fragment containing a nucleic acid sequence of interest from a nucleic acid or nucleic acids mixture, comprising the steps of:(1) digesting the nucleic acid or nucleic acids mixture with restriction enzymes to obtain a mixture of nucleic acid fragments, said restriction enzymes consisting of (A) two different enzymes capable of producing the particular nucleic acid fragment bearing predetermined and distinct restriction ends on its 5' and 3' terminals and (B) one or more restriction enzymes different from (A), for which the particular nucleic acid fragment contains no relevant restriction sites;(2) preparing two distinct DNA linkers capable of binding to the respective restriction ends of the particular nucleic acid fragment;(3) allowing the linkers to react with the mixture of nucleic acid fragments;(4) subjecting the resulting reaction mixture to the first hybridization with an immobilized probe complementary to one of the linkers;(5) isolating the hybridized nucleic acid fragment from the probe;(6) subjecting the isolated nucleic acid fragment to the second hybridization with an immobilized probe complementary to the other linker; and(7) isolating the hybridized nucleic acid fragment from the probe.
