    • There is provided a multipurpose semiconductor integrated circuit device that can connect a variety of appliances to a network at low cost. The multipurpose semiconductor integrated circuit device includes: a plurality of types of input/output interfaces; a memory including a file storage region for a storing script file where processes relating to data inputted and/or outputted though the plurality of types of input/output interfaces are defined using a script language; an interpreter capable of executing the script files; and a file management system that admits accessing the file storage region of the memory thought at least one of the plurality of types of input/output interfaces. By defining user logic relating to input/output data using a script file, it is possible to clearly distinguish between firmware and user logic and user logic can be installed easily.

    • A data collection method of the present invention uses measuring terminals, each of measuring terminals can obtain measurement data from a sensor and wirelessly transmit the measurement data, and a collection terminal for receiving the measurement data from the measuring terminals, each measuring terminal having a memory that stores, as its own identification information, one of a limited number of sets of identification information whose order can be defined. The data collection method comprises: an inquiring step in which the collection terminal wirelessly transmits a message for inquiring about identification information; a first responding step in which each measuring terminal, on receiving the message, wirelessly transmits its own identification information when, after the message has ended, a turn for sending its own identification information is reached; a first identifying step in which the collection terminal stores the sets of identification information received in reply in the order of the sets of identification information; and a collecting step in which the collection terminal wirelessly communicates individually with the measuring terminals that have the stored sets of identification information and collects the measurement data from the measuring terminals. By the collection method, data can be automatically collected from the measuring terminals.

    • A measuring unit capable of measuring change in physical quantity, such as a temperature, and incorporating a measuring portion for sequentially recording plural measurement data measured at a predetermined interval in a memory, and a communication portion capable of transferring the recorded plural measurement data in the memory and the period elapsed from the last data measurement to communication. In the measuring unit, only measurement data can be recorded, requiring no recording of the time information. After transferring the measurement data and the elapsed period to a measuring data management apparatus, the measuring data management apparatus is able to obtain measurement time of each measurement data. Therefore, the structure of the measuring unit can be simplified and the capacity of the memory can effectively be used to record the measurement data. Moreover, time required to transfer measurement data can be shortened. Thus, the resultant measuring unit minimizes electric power consumption and be usable for measurement over en extended period.

    • A valve system has a main body including a valve element that controls flow of fluid between a plurality of ports and an operation unit capable of being detachably attached to the main body. The main body includes; a driving element that is operated from the outside by a magnetic force and directly or indirectly drives the valve element; and a first housing that houses the valve element and the driving element and is watertight in a state where pipes are connected to the plurality of ports.
