摘要： An image source apparatus includes: a driver, operable to send the image data to the printer and to cause the printer to execute the printing based on the image data, in accordance with a prescribed standard; an application processor; and a storage. When the driver receives an initialization request from the application processor, the driver, after notifying the application processor of an acknowledgement of the initialization request, carries out an initialization process in accordance with the received initialization request, and the driver, after finishing the initialization process, acquires information on a plurality of items related to a specification of the printer from the printer in accordance with the prescribed standard and stores the information in the storage. When the driver receives an acquisition command for acquiring any of the plurality of items from the application processor, the driver returns information on the item related to the acquisition command to the application processor with reference to the storage.

摘要： A system is provided for enabling the efficient reuse of printing data stored in a printer to execute printing without retransmission of printing data. The system comprises data management means, which, when a printing request received from a client device is of a type involving the transmission and reception of printing data, stores the printing data received from the client device in storage means in association with management information, and transmits the management information to the client device; means which, when the printing request is of a type involving the transmission and reception of management information associated by the data management means, references the above storage means and reads out the printing data associated with the management data received from the client device; and means to execute printing based on the printing data. When the data management means judges it necessary to delete printing data from the above storage means, printing data is selected and deleted based on priority information relating to data deletion.

When a printing device is connected to a first external device, and a connection request outputted from a second external device is detected, first the role of the printing device is set as a communication slave, and then, at a predetermined timing (for example, when a physical connection is established), the role of the printing device is switched from a communication slave to a communication master.

摘要： What is disclosed is an emulator that emulates on an execution machine the operation of a target machine. The emulator emulates routines that are called via a jump table such as the BIOS. Control is transferred to an emulation module not by directly trapping the procedure to call the BIOS but by placing a privileged instruction (a halt instruction, for example) in the area called and by causing a trap through the execution of the privileged instruction. An identifier is placed after the halt instruction and a needed BIOS emulation module is called by a dispatcher using this identifier. Therefore, normal operation can be obtained even if there is a resident program which rewrites the jump table.
