    • A bearing assembly used for a work implement of a construction machine with an excellent bearing performance, excellent durability and good maintenance. A pair of first bushings with flanges and a pair of second bushings with flanges are fixed respectively in the bore of the boss and the brackets in a manner such that the first bushing flange faces the second bushing flange. An anti-wear material applied on at least one of the sliding surfaces of the flanges of the first and second bushing flanges that face each other. The first bushings with flanges fixed in both sides of the bore of the boss can be a double-structural member including an outer tubular member and an inner sliding member fixed in the bore of the outer tubular member respectively. Furthermore, the first bushings can be a double-structural member including an outer tubular member and an inner sliding member fixed in the bore of the outer tubular member.

    • A load cell (24, 31, 40, 51, 58, 62, 64, 68, 92, 96, 97) having flame proof function has a load cell body (2) and a flame proof enclosure (25, 33, 36, 41, 69, 78) for covering at least a strain gage carrying portion (5) of the load cell body (2). A load receiving portion (4) connected with the strain gage carrying portion (5) for transmitting a load to the strain gage carrying portion, projects outwardly from the flame proof enclosure. A gap (30) is defined between a first surface of the load cell body and a second surface of the enclosure, so that the load receiving portion (4) and the strain gage carrying portion (5) are freely movable relative to the enclosure. The size of the gap width W.sub.1 and of the gap length L.sub.1 are selected for realizing the flame proof function.

    • An engine hood for a construction machine is configured to be pivoted in a vehicle body back-and-forth direction about a hinge attached as a pivot center to a longitudinal side part of a counterweight. The engine hood includes an engine hood main body, a first operating force applying unit and a second operating force applying unit. The engine hood main body is attached to a vehicle body of the construction machine in a pivotably openable/closable state. The first operating force applying unit is configured to apply force in a direction of opening the engine hood main body until the engine hood main body reaches a vicinity of a predetermined opening angle. The second operating force applying unit is configured to apply force in a direction of closing the engine hood main body when the engine hood main body is pivoted at the predetermined opening angle or greater.
