    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing body drive controller for vehicle capable of preventing it from being adversely affected by temperature characteristic of a motor and determining whether foreign matter is caught in or not satisfactorily. SOLUTION: This opening/closing body drive controller drives a back door to close it by driving force of a DC motor during a period of idle running of the DC motor or through an interval of idle running. This controller computes an absolute value DN of difference in rotational speed being deviation between the rotational speed of the DC motor detected during the interval of idle running and the current rotational speed of the DC motor detected afterward to determine whether a foreign matter is caught in or not based on the relation of large or small values being the absolute value DN of the difference in rotational speed and an absolute value detection threshold value Ta. This controller infers temperature of the DC motor based on the rotational speed of the DC motor detected during the interval of idle running and corrects the absolute value detection threshold value Ta to make sensitivity higher in determining whether the foreign matter is caught in or not when temperature is low than sensitivity when the inferred temperature of the DC motor is high.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for vehicular opening-closing body, the unit being capable of preventing easy intrusion of foreign materials (rain, snow, dust and the like) into a trunk opening even in a case some material is caught in a trunk lid at the trunk opening.SOLUTION: A drive unit includes: a closer mechanism for retaining an opening-closing body respectively at a half latch position and a full close position, the body opening and closing an opening of a vehicle body; and drive means for driving the opening-closing body between the half latch position and full close position via a closer mechanism. In a case where an event of some material being caught between the opening-closing body and a vehicle body is detected when the opening-closing body is closed from the half latch position to full close position by the drive means, the drive means is reverse-driven to open the opening-closing body to the half latch position, and the drive means is stopped while the closer mechanism retains the opening-closing body at the half latch position. Drive control means continues stopping of the drive means until receiving an opening instruction signal for opening the opening-closing body from the half latch position to the full open position.
