    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical stapler having a longer distance capable of sewing than a conventional one, easy turning operation of a cam-operated lever, and capable of miniaturizing, and to provide its operation unit. SOLUTION: In the surgical stapler 10, a straightly moving stroke of a slide cam 23 is longer than that of a gear shaft 53 of the rolling gear 50 pivotally supported to one place, and the distance capable of sewing becomes longer. Furthermore, because the distance capable of sewing becomes longer by moving the rolling gear 50 itself, the power transmission efficiency is not fallen as in the case of increasing number of stages of the gear. In addition, the gear is attempted to miniaturize as compared with the diameter of a big gear 52 enlarged to a small gear 51.
