    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep fuel pressure higher only at a time of start of an internal combustion engine than at a time of normal operation.
      SOLUTION: A fuel supply device 2 supplies fuel in a fuel tank 3 to a delivery pipe 7 via fuel supply piping 5 by a fuel pump 4, keeps fuel under a pressurized condition in a storage section 13 provided in a part of the piping 5 at a time of stop of the engine 1, and releases fuel in the storage section 13 and injects and supplies fuel under a liquid condition to the engine 1 by an injector 6 from the delivery pipe 7 at a time of start of the engine1. A fuel shut-off valve 32 shutting off fuel flow is provided in a fuel return piping 8 returning fuel in the delivery pipe 7 to the fuel tank 3. The shut-off valve 32 has fuel pressure regulating function. A pressure regulator 31 and the fuel shut-off valve 32 are arranged in the fuel return valve 8 in series. The fuel shut-off valve 32 consists of a solenoid valve, and includes a valve element opening in action in same direction as fuel flow and opening by spring in action in reverse direction of the fuel flow.
