    • A solar still includes a relatively shallow chamber with a pyramid shaped transparent cover and a transparent base. The still also includes a pair of rollers and an endless heat absorbing belt rotatable about the rollers. The still is positioned to receive solar energy passing through the transparent cover and impinging on an upper surface of the heat absorbing belt in order to vaporize seawater within the chamber. The efficiency of the still is increased by one or more mirrors disposed below the still for reflecting sun light up through the transparent base to impinge on a lower outer surface of the belt to enhance the vaporization of the seawater. One or more fans are also provided for cooling the cover to enhance the condensation of water that will then run down the cover and into a pure water receptacle.

    • The system for inertial particle separation removes particulate matter, such as sand, from an air stream, such as that drawn into a turbine engine. The system includes first and second walls spaced apart and positioned within a housing of the turbine engine. The first wall is in the form of an airfoil with variable geometry. An annular air flow path is defined between the first and second walls. The air flow path leads inwardly from an ambient inlet and turns to an outlet. A splitter member is positioned between the first and second walls. A scavenge flow path is defined between the splitter member and the first wall. An inlet thereof is in communication with the ambient inlet, and a filtered flow path is defined between the splitter member and the second wall. The splitter member is also in the form of an airfoil having a variable geometry.

    • A submersible craft for water purification is provided. The submersible craft includes an annular hollow housing which contains a plurality of guide vanes for directing water flow through the housing when the submersible craft is submersed in a body of water and also a plurality of filters for filtering contaminants from the water. The craft includes a drive system and a navigation system for allowing a user control over thrust, depth and navigation through the body of water. Both the drive system and navigation system may be remote controlled by the user, or controlled by a pre-programmed guidance system mounted within the hollow housing. The submersible craft is powered by rechargeable batteries, which may be recharged by solar panels mounted on the craft, in order to minimize pollutants generated by the on-board systems of the craft.
