摘要： A computerized method of creating and printing documents having one or more magnetic ink characters includes identifying and positioning data fields within a displayed representation of the document to be printed. Locations are identified within the data fields and elsewhere on the displayed representation of the document where magnetic ink characters are to be printed. The identified locations where magnetic ink characters are to be printed are compared with predetermined specifications for such locations. The identified locations on the representation of the document to be printed are adjusted to conform to the predetermined specifications.

Other aspects of the system are described, including methods of heat sinking the sensor, a suspension system, methods of compensating for an effect of temperature on the ferrofluid, and a compact magnet configuration for forming the linear motor and providing feedback as to the position of the sensor.

摘要： The cost and complexity of an electronic pressure sensitive transducer are decreased by constructing such a transducer directly on a printed circuit board containing support electronics. Conductive traces are formed on the printed circuit board to define a contact area. A flexible substrate having an inner surface is positioned over the contact area. An adhesive spacer, substantially surrounding the contact area, attaches the flexible substrate to the printed circuit board. At least one resistive layer is deposited on the flexible substrate inner surface. In use, the resistive layer contacts at least two conductive traces in response to pressure applied to the flexible substrate to produce an electrical signal indicative of applied pressure.

摘要： A force sensing resistor includes two substrates. Conductive traces including first, common, and calibration fingers are on the first substrate and define a contact area. A spacer surrounds the contact area and attaches the substrates together such that a cavity separates the substrates in the contact area. A first resistive layer is on the second substrate and arranged within the cavity. In response to a force moving one substrate, the first resistive layer electrically connects the first and common fingers with a resistance dependent upon resistivity of the first resistive layer and the applied force to produce an electrical signal indicative of the applied force. A second resistive layer is arranged within the cavity and electrically connects the calibration and common fingers with a resistance dependent upon resistivity of the second resistive layer to produce an electrical signal indicative of the resistivity of the second resistive layer.

摘要： An airbag (10) for mounting in the bumper (18) of a motor vehicle (12) is provided. The airbag can have an up-side-down “L” shape or a cylindrical shape. Further, multiple bags can be combined within one system. The airbag is configured to cover substantially the width of the vehicle upon deployment and also provide protection to the occupant of a struck vehicle (36) in the event the occupant is partially expelled from the struck vehicle in the direction of the bag. The airbag is combined with an inflation (23), collision sensor (34) and an electronic control unit (38) to form the airbag system.
