    • Thermoset materials and objects are obtained by making a formulation (A) containing an epoxide prepolymer and a rheology regulator (I), making a formulation (B) containing a hardener and (I), combining (A) and (B) to form a semi-finished product, forming to the required shape and reacting the combination, e.g. by thermoforming. A method for the production of thermoset materials and objects (T) involves (a) preparation of a formulation (A) containing 10-99 wt% epoxide prepolymer and 1-90 wt% rheology regulator(s) (I), (b) preparation of a formulation (B) containing 1-90 wt% hardener(s) and 10-99 wt% (I) (not necessarily the same regulator), (c) making a semi-finished product by simultaneous treatment of (A) and (B) depending on the nature of the required products, with due regard if necessary to the stoichiometry between prepolymer and hardener and including (as required) fibres, mats, fabric or other materials used in composites, (d) forming the required structure by conventional methods, e.g. drape forming, moulding or sandwich production and (e) reacting the formulation to give a composite by a conventional method such as thermoforming. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) woven and knitted fabric made by a co-weaving process (stage c); (2) thermoset objects and materials made by co-extrusion or by impregnation with a powder mixture (stage c).

    • Extruded organic fibre based on (a) thermosetting resin(s) contains (b) 1-80 wt% of a rheology control agent comprising a special 2-block or 3-block copolymer in which one end-block is compatible with (a) and the other is incompatible with (a). Organic fibre obtained, e.g. by extrusion, from a formulation comprising (a) 10-99 wt% thermosetting resin(s) (I), (b) 1-80 wt% rheology control agent (II) comprising block copolymers with the structure S-B-M, B-M and M-B-M in which the blocks are linked by covalent bonds, either directly or via intermediate molecule(s); and (c) 0-50 wt% of material(s) (III) selected from thermoplastics, core-shell additives, functionalized elastomers, SB copolymers and reactive rubbers such as ATBN (amine-terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile) or CTBN (carboxy-terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile). M : a polymer block which is miscible with resin (I); B : a block which is incompatible with resin (I) and block M, showing a glass transition point (Tg) which is below the usage temperature of (I); and S : a block which is incompatible with resin (I) and block (B), showing a Tg or melting point (Tf) which is above the Tg of (B). An independent claim is also included for woven and knitted fabric made from this fibre.
