    • GSM BASED EARLY FLOOD WARNING AND MONITORING SYSTEM For several decades natural disasters have been causing severe damages. During most cyclones and rainy seasons flooding is inevitable. Flooding has devastating consequences for individuals and communities as a whole. The immediate impact of flooding includes loss of human lives, damage of infrastructure and property, damage to crops and loss of livestock. Methods of measuring the increase in the level of water and the approach taken to passing timely information to the people over the past few decades have been very backward as the information provided is inadequate and devoid of useful ICT driven tools. This project demonstrates the design process and the implementation and verification of the device. The main objective of the system is to be able to measure the level of water at every second and alert the affected populace and authorities by means of SMS (short message system) when the water level surpasses a user defined threshold, the user can also monitor the level on demand by calling the device and the device will reply with an SMS containing the relevant data. Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) network has been used for sending messages. An Arduino Uno microcontroller is used to read the input from the sensor. The theory being used for measuring is based on the theory of pressure applied to fluids; using this method for measurements the system proves to be 99.9% accurate. The device is far more accurate than most systems used currently as it is localized. The warning system is observed to be faster and more effective for alerting affected residents and relevant authorities. Therefore, data is deemed to be very much useful for monitoring weather patterns and tides. -3 Figuei2 Shown in Figure 2 is an elevation of the device once installed and functioning. Label 1 represents the casing which contains all the circuitry containing the Arduino Uno, GSM shield and the pressure sensor, label 2 is the pressure sensor, the pressure sensor will be put right on top of the pipe and will be tightly sealed. Labels 3 and 4 show the user defined threshold for low risk after which the automatic warning texts will be sent out to vulnerable residents and respective disaster management organizations. Label S represent the air in the pipe and label 6 represents the level of water in the pipe as the water in the pipe Increases it will further compress the trapped air hence increasing the pressure, and this will he sensed by the pressure sensor.

    • The impact of the global pandemic in 2020 has helped us identify key lackings in disease and illness detection methods that currently exist. These factors have highlighted that it is imperative that better, quicker, and accurate techniques to detect illness at an early stage are identified and developed. With advancements such as machine learning and big data, it is possible to implement industry-leading solutions for early symptoms detection. By leveraging the advantages of signal processing and machine learning, we are able to learn, train and identify trends which allows a system to classify voice signatures that can output symptoms for disease and illnesses to its users. The system also takes advantage of it's integrated heart rate and blood oxygen level sensor to improve the accuracy of the symptoms presented on to the user. The implementation of this system can help health practitioners more efficiently diagnose patients at an early stage of the disease or illness and help reduce hospitalization rates as well.     • The Earth has now entered an era, sometimes referred to as the "Anthropocene Era". The era when human activity began to have a substantial influence on the planet's climate and ecosystems. Human-induced global warming, due to excessive amounts of carbon dioxide (C02) emitted during our consumption of fossil fuels. Transitioning to renewable and clean energy has become more essential in recent years to combat issues such as climate change. To avoid a crisis and reach an era beyond the Anthropocene Era where we can live sustainably, we must find new ways to meet our energy needs. Without changing the way we extract and use energy, the known reserves of conventional fossil fuels will only last for about 60 years. Generally, renewable energy used to be prohibitively expensive, but new 'clean energy' technologies are lowering costs and assisting in the transition away from fossil fuels. These devices will meet global energy demands while simultaneously reducing climate change. As such, thermoelectric energy panels are an ingenious and revolutionary way of producing clean, renewable, and sustainable electrical energy. The thermoelectric generator (TEG) modules are responsible for converting heat energy into electrical energy through the Seebeck effect.     • For several decades natural disasters have been causing severe damages world-wide. It has been noted in the recent history that bush-fires have been becoming more intense. Bush-fires have devastating consequences. The immediate impact includes the loss of human lives, damage to infrastructure, damage to crops, loss of livestock and animals. According to BBC News in the most recent bush-fires in Australia 33 people have been killed, an unaccounted number of animals have died, more than 11 million hectares of bush, forest and parks across the country and several thousand houses have been destroyed. It has been noted that the method to disseminate timely and accurate information about fires to the fire services and the locals have been quite ineffective and insignificant. The main objective of this new Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) based system is to monitor the area continuously and alert the affected populace and authorities utilizing SMS (short message system) when a fire is detected. The device contains an Arduino Uno microcontroller that reads the inputs from sensors. The low-cost and localized device proves as a faster, efficient and more effective method of warning and alerting the affected residents and relevant authorities and will enable quick response.
