摘要： PURPOSE:To enable a peak of a contact resonance to be eliminated and achieve an accurate vibration force measurement by including a compensation member between a friction material test piece and at least either of a pickup or mounting holes. CONSTITUTION:A friction material test piece 18 which is inserted into a mounting hole 21 of a test piece holder 2 is pressure-welded to contact a rotary rotor 12 and at the same time it is allowed to contact a pickup 19 for measuring vibration force, thus enabling a force constituent of friction vibration to be measured. At this time, a soft thin sheet 23 is inserted between the test piece 18 and the pick-up 19 as a compensation member or a grease 22 is filled between the test piece 18 and the mounting hole 21 as a compensation member. According to inclusion of these compensation members, a recess and a projection which are formed with a surface roughness of the test piece 18 is relieved and a contact area at them is increased. Therefore, a contact resonance frequency at this portion becomes higher, thus resulting in shift toward a high-frequency range, thus enabling influence of an undesirable contact resonance at the measurement frequency range to be eliminated and an accurate damping force to be measured.

CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of a frictional material, similarly to the manufacture of a two layer material in the preshaping of the frictional material, a back metal 1 side is made of an ordinary frictional basic material 2, and the content of the organic component in a surface layer 3 is set to 5% or less, and then the heating treatment is applied, and the surface is polishing-finished. The above-described frictional material is mainly the phenol resin as a binder necessary for forming the frictional material. Accordingly, the frictional material thus formed has the initial brake power which is equal to that of the frictional material which is applied with the surface baking, and since the surface baking process can be omitted, the baking unevenness can be suppressed, and quality can be improved, and cost cut can be achieved.

Accordingly, when the pawl 6 of a caliper is pressed against the rear metal 3, the soft flame-coated layer 10 is present between the rear metal 3 and the pawl 6, and is suitably deformed so that they are satisfactorily made into close-contact with each other. Thereby it is possible to inhibit the growth of frictional vibration to prevent occurrence of noise.
