    • A routing method for a cluster-based wireless sensor network is provided for improving lifespan of the network and reducing network traffic. A routing method is proposed for a wireless sensor network having a sensor field defined by a plurality of clusters each including a plurality of sensor nodes and a header node, one of the cluster is a head cluster including a sink node. The routing method includes announcing, at least one sensor node which is the sensor node detected an event, the event; requesting, at the sink node, the source node to transmit data required for ubiquitous services; and transmitting, at the at least one source node, data to the sink node. Announcing the event includes relaying, at the at least one source node, a data announcement packet from a source cluster to which the source node belongs to a destination cluster which is arranged along an ith second direction axis through the header nodes of the clusters arranged along a first direction axis of the source cluster. The routing method of the present invention reduces the transmission amounts of data request and data packets, thereby conserving the energy and bandwidth, resulting in improvement of network life time.

    • An apparatus and method for playing an instance inferred and predicted in a ubiquitous environment is provided. An inferred/predicted instance play apparatus of the present invention includes a situation detector, an information storage, and a temporalspatial information player. The situation detector detects physical and electrical situations in a ubiquitous space. The information storage stores the detected physical and electrical situations as temporalspatial information. The temporalspatial information player obtains requested temporalspatial information in response to an instance play request and replays the temporalspatial information. The temporalspatial information player replays, if the requested temporalspatial information is retrieved in the information storage, the retrieved temporalspatial information and, otherwise, infers or predicts the requested temporalspatial information using the temporalspatial information stored in the information storage. The instance play apparatus of the present invention can infers or predicts a contextual instance at a past or future time requested by a user and plays the inferred/predicted contextual instance, whereby the user feels like existing in that spatialtemporal environment of the instance.

    • There is provided a method of broadcasting advertisements. The method includes calculating online scheduling values in proportion to preferences of users in each area of advertisement display devices for advertisement items, with respect to the advertisement items, to be processed in a present time slot, and the advertisement display devices; calculating a standard deviation between the online scheduling values of the advertisement display devices, with respect to each of the advertisement items; selecting an advertisement item having a maximum standard deviation; selecting an advertisement display device having a maximum online scheduling value with respect to the selected advertisement item; transmitting the selected advertisement item to the selected advertisement display device; and excluding advertisement display devices for the selected advertisement item and advertisement items for the selected advertisement display device. When there are left advertisement items and advertisement display devices to be processed after the excluding, the selecting an advertisement item having a maximum standard deviation is performed again with respect to the left advertisement items and advertisement dis la devices.

    • A memory interleave system for providing memory interleave for a heterogeneous computing system is provided. The memory interleave system effectively interleaves memory that is accessed by heterogeneous compute elements in different ways, such as via cache-block accesses by certain compute elements and via non-cache- block accesses by certain other compute elements. The heterogeneous computing system may comprise one or more cache-block oriented compute elements and one or more non- cache-block oriented compute elements that share access to a common main memory. The cache-block oriented compute elements access the memory via cache-block accesses (e.g., 64 bytes, per access), while the non-cache-block oriented compute elements access memory via sub-cache-block accesses (e.g., 8 bytes, per access). A memory interleave system is provided to optimize the interleaving across the system's memory banks to minimize hot spots resulting from the cache-block oriented and non-cache-block oriented accesses of the heterogeneous computing system.
