    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize leakage of air at the whole closed position on control of a throttle valve and to prevent bite-in of the seal material. SOLUTION: The throttle control device has an elastic member clamped between an outer peripheral edge of the throttle valve and an inner wall surface of a suction passage and elastically deformed when the throttle valve is closed and capable of sealing a gap between the outer peripheral edge of the throttle valve and the inner wall surface of the suction passage; a rotation torque detection means capable of detecting rotation torque of a motor; an angle detection means capable of detecting a rotation angle of the throttle valve; and a whole closed position measuring means for determining the whole closed position θs on control of the throttle valve based on the rotation torque In of the motor and the rotation angle θn of the throttle valve. Thereby, the rotation angle of the throttle valve at the timing when the elastic member is started to be elastically deformed can be made to the whole closed position on the control.     • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a contact trouble due to a clearance in the downstream of intake at the time of high negative pressure action by relatively large setting the clearance in the downstream of intake, of the clearances between the inside intake path wall of a body main unit and the outside peripheral edge of a throttle valve rotated in an intake path. CONSTITUTION:A throttle valve 5 is mounted on a throttle shaft 4 inserted to be supported to a body main unit 1. The first outside peripheral edge 5a in a side of rotating toward the upstream and the second outside peripheral edge 5b in a side of rotating toward the downstream are respectively formed in the throttle valve 5. Further in an intake path wall in the inside of the body main unit 1, spherical wall surfaces 6, 7 in the upstream and downstream are formed respectively in a part opposed to the first outside peripheral edge 5a and a part opposed to the second outside peripheral edge 5b. In a device thus obtained in the above, the second clearance H2 between the downstream spherical wall surface 7 and the second outside peripheral edge 5b is set larger than the first clearance H1 between the upstream spherical wall surface 6 and the first outside peripheral edge 5a.
