    • PURPOSE:To obtain the measurement method capable of easily and highly precisely measuring by means of a coulometric titration method. CONSTITUTION:The measurement method of acidity and alkalinity shows that a multipole partition plate 2A composed of Pd or Pd alloy is set in an electrolytic cell 1, with specimen electrolytic solution 6 put in one hand cell 1A of seriately-connected multipole electrolytic cells and with acid solution, alkali solution or pH buffer solution 6A put in the other hand cell 1B thereof, electrolysis is performed and a hydrogen ion in the specimen electrolytic solution or, the acid solution, the alkali solution or the pH buffer solution is moved between both the electrolytic cells through said multipole partition plate to perform coulometric titration. As usual, with titration reagent solution precisely prepared, simple measurement is possible without any need of filling it. In addition, because the number of parts is few, the low cost and compactness of the device can be contrived. Furthermore measurement precision is improved because any interference component in the specimen solution is not influenced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the method capable of contriving the simplification of a device and measuring at high precision. CONSTITUTION:With pH of a solution containing a substance to be measured iondissociating in the solution and having steam pressure at a non-dissociation condition regulated, the concentration of the substance to be measured therein is continuously measured by the use of a gas electrode with a diaphragm 1. At the time the pH regulation of the solution is performed by continuously bringing the solution into contact with an acid solution, the solution into contact with an alkali solution or a pH buffer solution through an ion exchange membrane 2. A cylinder pump, an agitator and the like for pH regulation are not needed and the simplification, light weight and low cost of a device can be contrived. The ion exchange membrane 2 and a detection electrode are easy to wash and the maintenance and inspection thereof become easy, so that its time can be reduced. High sensitivity can be easily achieved in the measurement of CO2, NH3 and the like, furthermore the compensation of temperature is unnecessary if a pH regulation vessel 3 is made a thermostatic chamber and measurement precision is improved.
