摘要： Thermoplastic nanocomposites are prepared by reactive compounding of a nanocomposite versatile masterbatch comprising a partially modified pristine clay and a reactive carrier plastics compound with a thermoplastics matrix polymer wherein the matrix polymer has a main chain directly or indirectly miscible with or reactive with said carrier plastics compound. The matrix polymer may include functional groups reactive with the carrier plastics compound to form a copolymer or a copolymer having at least one region thermodynamically miscible with said matrix polymer and at least one functional group reactive with said reactive carrier plastics compound to form a block copolymer therebetween.

The process comprises the steps of treating pristine clay with water in order to swell the clay, exchanging the water with an organic solvent while still maintaining the clay in a swollen state, treating the swollen clay with a modifier and then mixing the treated clay with a substance selected from the group consisting of monomers, oligomers and polymers and combinations thereof. Where necessary, the substance is polymerised and the solvent is being removed either prior to, during or after the polymerization.

摘要： Methods and arrangements for time distribution in an optical network system in the upstream direction are disclosed. The information of a selected time reference frame and a calculated time stamp value of the frame based on a real-time clock of the optical line terminal (OLT) is sent from the OLT to the optical network unit (ONU) via the optical distribution network (ODN). When the time reference frame is sent to the ONU from the OLT via the ODN, the ONU records the arrival time of the frame based on a time reference made by the real-time clock of the ONU. The time difference between the arrival time and the time stamp value is calculated whereupon the OLT is informed of the calculated time difference. The OLT adjusts the real-time clock of the OLT in accordance with the time difference.

摘要： The invention described herein provides an improved process for preparing bio- oils from biomass using pyrolysis. The process can comprise a step of acid pre-treatment of biomass prior to microwave assisted pyrolysis, and comprise a reformation step prior to condensation. The process of the invention can be used to produce simpler higher quality bio-oil compositions from a given biomass input, and with greater liquid percent yield relative to starting biomass solid weight. Resultant bio-oil output can comprise a water- soluble fraction and insoluble oil fraction, the components of which can be further separated to provide various useful compounds.

E genes can both prevent the occurrence of papillomavirus disease, and treat disease states. Canine papillomavirus (COPV) E genes which are codon-optimized to enhance expression in host cells are also given.
