摘要： The present invention provides a device for analyzing the status of a biological entity. The device comprises a base substrate having a recess defined therein by two opposing lateral walls and a base wall, a filler member having at least a portion thereof occupying the recess, and a channel defined in the portion of the filler member occupying the recess, wherein the channel comprises a first aperture and a second aperture, the first aperture being arranged on a first lateral wall of the filler member, and the second aperture being arranged on a second lateral wall of the filler member, said first lateral wall of the filler member being arranged in opposing relationship with the second lateral wall of the filler member, and at least a portion of the first and the second lateral walls of the filler member being at least substantially perpendicular to the opposing lateral walls defining the recess.

摘要： A liquid sample containing multiple analytes is used to produce a layer on a SERS surface of an SERS substrate. Raman spectra are collected from the different locations. The Raman spectra for different locations have different ratios of signal components from the multiple respective analytes, for example because the analytes are present in different proportions at the different locations, or because the analytes interact with the SERS surface in different ways at the different locations. A self-modeling curve resolution technique such as BTEM is used to extract from the collected Raman spectra multiple pure component spectra, corresponding to the respective analyte components. The pure component spectra can be used to identify the analytes. One way of producing the inhomogenous layer is by evaporating the liquid sample. Another is by arranging for the surface of the SERS substrate to be inhomogeneous, so that an inhomogenous layer of adsorbed analytes is formed and/or such that the SERS effect itself is inhomogenous.

摘要： A method of fabricating a sensor comprising a nanowire on a support substrate with a first semiconductor layer arranged on the support substrate is disclosed. The method comprises forming a fin structure from the first semiconductor layer, the fin structure comprising at least two supporting portions and a fin portion arranged there between; oxidizing at least the fin portion of the fin structure thereby forming the nanowire being surrounded by a first layer of oxide; and forming an insulating layer above the supporting portions; wherein the supporting portions and the first insulating layer form a microfluidic channel. A nanowire sensor is also disclosed. The nanowire sensor comprises a support substrate, a semiconducting fin structure arranged on the support substrate, the fin structure comprising at least two semiconducting supporting portions and a nanowire arranged there between; and a first insulating layer on a contact surface of the supporting portions; wherein the supporting portions and the first insulating layer form a microfluidic channel.

摘要： A method of fabricating a sensor comprising a nanowire on a support substrate with a first semiconductor layer arranged on the support substrate is disclosed.
