SOLUTION: A reflecting sheet 4 is projected from a light guiding plate 3 in a lamp reflector 2, wherein cutout parts 5 are provided on both ends of the reflecting sheet 4 projected in the lamp reflector 2. Thereby, an interference between the projected reflection sheet 4 and electrode parts on both ends of a lamp 1 or a lamp holder 1a is prevented from generating.

SOLUTION: In a light guiding plate 3 constituting a surface light source apparatus in a edge light manner, a luminous surface is a plane and its rear surface is constituted by a slanted plane part 31 in which a thickness of the light guiding plate 3 is linearly reduced by directing from a light entering part getting light from a linear light source 1 toward an anti-light entering part and a parallel plane part 32 in parallel with a luminous surface in the vicinity of the anti-light entering part. Border parts of two surfaces adjacent are connected to each other by using a curved surface of the border part in which the two surfaces adjacent becomes a connecting surface and at the same time, reflecting dots are formed on the rear surface side of the light guiding plate 3 with a predetermined shape and density.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin illumination device of high luminance with uniform luminance distribution. SOLUTION: The illumination device is provided with light-guide bodies 2 having an inner space part with cross-section of nearly U-shape and functions as it makes an incidence plane 2a by arranging end faces in one end of the light-guide bodies 2 opposed to a lamp 1, and makes an emitting face 2b by arranging faces on the other end under a diffusing plate 5 between the lamps 1. Light made incident on the face 2a of the light-guide body 2 is repeatedly reflected on the inside of the light-guide body 2 and is emitted from the emitting face 2b arranged under the diffusing plate 5. Further, a reflection plate 3 is arranged so that a part will be adhered to the light-guide body 2 in the vicinity of the incidence face 2a and the emitting face 2b of the inner space part of the light-guide body 2. Since virtual light sources are formed between the lamps 1 by this arrangement, luminance unevenness is largely suppressed on the display surface. Screen printing to the diffusing plate 5 can be made thinner than before because of this, and it is possible to obtain a thin illumination device of high luminance wherein the luminance distribution is uniform.

SOLUTION: Between an LED substrate 2 and an incident light face 1c of a light guide plate 1, a sheet-formed prism member 5 made of a transparent resin is arranged. The prism member 5 is formed by ranging plural nearly triangular minute prisms in which a cross-sectional face being parallel with the light-emitting face 1a of the light guide plate 1 has its vertex at the LED substrate 2 side, and makes light emitted from an LED 3 reflected and dispersed to both sides of the longitudinal direction x of the incident light face 1c, and make it incident into the incident light face 1c. The vertices are 90±20 degree, edge lines of the respective prisms are tilted 30 to 90 degree against the longitudinal direction of the incident light face 1c and arranged. By this, the light in close proximity to the LED 3 front among the light to reach the incident light face 1c of the light guide plate 1 is weakened, the generation of the unevenness of the chromaticity/brightness can be suppressed even if a distance of the LED substrate 2 and the incident light face 1c is short, because the light is effectively dispersed.

A portion of a side of the light guide plate on which the rod-shaped light source is disposed is in contact with the protecting/maintaining member side to protect/maintain the light guide plate. Thus, the protecting/maintaining member has an end formed thereon. Also, in the end of the protecting/maintaining member, a space between the light guide plate and a protecting/maintaining member is narrower than a space between an opened end of the tubular reflective member and the light guide plate.
