摘要： The invention relates to a method for configuring an intelligent electronic device (IED) that includes enabling dynamic capability of the IED by flexible data modeling technique to dynamically adapt a data model based on application requirement using a configuration tool. The invention also relates to a substation automation system comprising a local system equipment having a plurality of IEDs associated with the local system equipment and an IED configuration tool configured to interact with the firmware of each IED to configure the IED based on application requirements. The application configuration tool comprising dynamic capability information of the IED to enable flexible data model in the IED.

摘要： A method, a substation automation apparatus and an intelligent electronic device (IED) is provided for but not limited only to publishing data (data emanating) from the IED. The method includes assigning a unique identifier to one or more data field, where the one or more data field is associated with a short address attribute in the data emanating from the intelligent electronic device. The IED includes a list of functions; (each function being represented as a logical node; and each logical node containing data objects); and a flexible addressing scheme for configuring the data objects and publishing data from the IED but not limited only to data emanating from IED.

摘要： A system and a method for implementing an electrical process controlin a Distributed Control System (DCS) is provided. The system is based on integrating Industrial Substation Automation system and the DCS by having a combined control bus (135) conveying process control messages and station bus conveying power control messages. The integrated industrial automation system utilizes a process controller capable of communication using IEC 61850 communication standard interacts with one or more Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) configured for one or more substations in an industrial plant. The method of configuring the process controller of the integrated industrial automation system uses electrical process and plant process engineering tools. The plant process engineering tool has at least one module, present as an integral part of externally for engineering IEC 61850 based application or function for configuring one or more process controllers of the integrated industrial automation system.

The technique includes providing multiple IEDs in a power network in the substation and integrating an intrinsic load shedding function in each IED. 摘要： A power management system for a plant electrical network using plurality of controllers configured for power management such that a first controller from the plurality of controllers is configured to perform power management in a first local process area within the plant electrical network and is capable to communicate with a second controller that is configured for power management in a second local process area within the plant electrical network over a plant wide communication network. The power management function in the first local process area is performed based on the information communicated between the first controller and the second controller or/and based on power balance computation carried out for plant wide electrical network or that for the first local process area.
