    • According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method of controlling an electronic thermostat comprises a driving valve arranged for opening and closing a flow path of a cooling water, and a driving heater for heating a wax for driving the driving valve, and comprises: a step for sensing a cooling water temperature which circulates the flow path of the cooling water; a step for judging whether the cooling water temperature is within a set heating temperature range or not; a step for driving a heating operation of the cooling water by applying a power source of a level which is set during a setting time on the driving heater when the cooling water temperature is within a set heating temperature range; and a step for stopping a heating operation on condition that the driving valve is not opened. Therefore, when a cooling water temperature is included within a low heating temperature range, the cooling water temperature can be rapidly increased by supplying a power to a driving heater on condition that the driving valve is not opened. Moreover, costs are cut down by using a driving heater of the existing thermostat without a separate heating device.     • PURPOSE: An electric thermostat is provided to minimize time used for increasing temperature to a target temperature using a glow plug type heater. CONSTITUTION: An electric thermostat comprises a housing (100), a wax case (200), a glow plug type heater (300), a driver (400), a main valve (500), and an elastic member (600). The housing is connected to multiple flow paths (P1, P2) where cooling water of an engine flows. The wax case is installed inside the housing and has a wax accommodating space. The glow plug type heater is inserted into wax which fills the wax accommodating space, and generates heat through input from an external power. The driver moves depending on the deformation of the wax due to the heat of the heater. The main valve opens and closes a radiator side flow path (P1) by the movement of the driver. The elastic member elastically supports the main valve to the radiator side flow path.
